Compliance Training
UTD has instituted a General Compliance Training Program. This training is required of all benefit eligible employees. The training program provides basic information about laws and regulations with which employees must comply. In addition, the training provides references regarding who employees can talk to, and websites they can visit for more information.

UTD conducts New Hire Compliance Training using eLearning. This is a web-based environment utilized on campus to manage classes and training online. Employees have the option to log in and take the training from their individual computers, from home, or from any internet-enabled computer at their convenience.
Training Instructions:
- To access eLearning, go to the following website: http://elearning.utdallas.edu.
- Click "Training, Organizations, Research" to continue.
- Click on the Login button.
- Use your regular UTD NetID and password to login.
- Look for the "New Hire Training" course listed under your Course Listing. It will be prefaced by Staff or Faculty and will contain the fiscal year. e.g., "Staff - New Hire Training FY09."
- Complete each training module in the course by clicking on the blue backpacks and navigating through the material by clicking anywhere within the training presentation to advance the slide. The end of the module will have instructions for accessing your quiz. You must receive a 70% or greater to receive credit for the module.
- Check your progress by clicking the "My Grades" link from the Tools menu on the left hand side of the screen. When you have received a 70% or better on all your assigned training modules, you have completed your training requirement.
If you do not have access to a computer during your normal job duties, please utilize one of the following options:
- For student employees, training is accessible from the computer labs.
- For non-student employees, training is accessible from the computers in the Library (go to the circulation desk, show staff ID and request a computer password).
Accessing eLearning:
You must have a NetID to access eLearning. If you have forgotten your NetID, go to https://netid.utdallas.edu/. If you have questions about or problems with your NetID, call the Information Resources help line at ext. 2911.
If you encounter problems:

Training Instructions:
- To access eLearning, go to the following website: http://elearning.utdallas.edu/.
- When you initially browse to the eLearning website, a warning box for a pop-up blocker check may appear. This box will give you instructions to turn off your pop-up blocker on your web browser so it won’t affect the eLearning training experience. Click OK to continue.
- After you click OK on the pop-up blocker check, you will be asked which institution you wish to access. Clicking the “Training” link will take you to the sign-in screen.
- Once you click the “Training” link on the main page of eLearning, it will direct you to the “Log In” page. This page will give you useful links and information that will assist you with completing the training.
- Click the “Log In” icon and use your regular UTD NetID and password to login.
- Once you have logged in using your NetID and password, a security warning may appear on your screen letting you know the digital signature has an error. Please check the box, “Always trust content from this publisher,” and then click run. If you follow these steps you won’t get this error message again in the future, and your training will run successfully.
- Look for the "Compliance Training" course on your Course List and click that link.
- The next page will you give you instructions on how to navigate your training modules. Click on each training module to complete it.
- Once you have completed each course, you may return to your course listing by clicking the "My Courses" link in the top left corner of the page. After you have completed each module, a check mark will appear letting you know you have successfully completed the training requirements for that module. After all the modules on your training page have checkmarks, your training will be 100% complete and no further action is required by you.
