It's that time again! SOJOURN is accepting submissions until December 31
in translations, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, drama, and visual art.

For more information, visit our website or send us an email at sojourn@utdallas.edu. If you choose not to submit your creative work, but still would like to be involved, BE A READER ON OUR SELECTION COMMITTEE! We will be reading the weekend before classes begin in January, Thursday the 8th- Saturday 10th. Readers will need to be available for two 3-hour shifts during this time. If you are interested, send us an email at sojourn@utdallas.edu and we will get back with you over the break to schedule your reading times.

Last but not least, Friday, December 12th from 7-10 pm we will be celebrating the release of our 21st issue at the PUB. There will be readings and an open mic, so come by and get your copy of the journal and join in the festivities. More information to come, but go ahead and mark it on your calendars.

Extreme Field Trip: To Birmingham and Back in a Day
Whirlwind Excursion Gives Aesthetics Class a Rare Look at Da Vinci Drawings

It’s rare that a graduate class takes a 1,282-mile trip to see an exhibit, then flies back home in the same day. But it’s not often that original drawings by Leonardo da Vinci are part of the itinerary.

Dr. Mark Rosen, assistant professor of aesthetic studies in the School of Arts & Humanities, took his graduate seminar to Birmingham, Ala., to see the drawings, which had made a trans-Atlantic journey to spend some time in America.

The class spent the day at “Leonardo da Vinci: Drawings from the Biblioteca Reale in Turin,” hosted by the Birmingham Museum of Art.
