| antÉ-Institute
for Research in Anticipatory Systems
and The University of Texas at Dallas present:
Jack Stauffacher and Dennis Lettbetter:
The
Vico Collaboration.
Giambattista Vico's New Science serves as
an inspiration for a sophisticated collaboration
between a printer and a photographer.
Jack
Stauffacher, printer, typographer,
book designer, and founder of the famed
Greenwood Press was celebrated by the AIGA
(Design Legend) for his innovative spirit.
His prints-- using huge old wood-type letters--,
and Dennis
Letbetter’s photographs,
of type and ink and books up close, make
up an unusual show inspired by the work
of the 18th-century Neapolitan philosopher.

The show provides the setting for a sequence
of presentations focused on the “new
science” of anticipation, a new frontier
knowledge domain eliciting the qualifier
“second Cartesian revolution”.
