According to National Public Radio, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) “has an inspiring and wide-ranging repertoire.”  Members explain the internationally praised group as “focused virtuosity meets maverick charisma.”

The LAGQ is a classical guitar quartet that blends jazz, blues, funk, world-music, Baroque, bluegrass, flamenco, rock, new age and contemporary styles with more traditional classical methods.  In 2003, the LAGQ: Latin was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Recording.  In 2004, “LAGQ's Guitar Heroes” won the Grammy in that category.

On his radio program The Record Shelf, critic Jim Svejda declared the ensemble’s most recent album,“LAGQ Brazil,” to be their “most completely irresistible recording yet.”

The LAGQ has toured throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia.  The ensemble was praised in the Los Angeles Times for “its unrivaled joy, technical elan and questing spirits.” In Guitar Player magazine, the LAGQ is referred to as “one of the finest guitar quartets in the world.”  The quartet has already begun work on its next album, a celebration of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
