7x24 Exchange Lone Star Chapter Undergraduate Scholarships
This $1,000 merit-based scholarship is awarded to juniors or seniors in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science who are interested in data center operations and information technology management. Preference will be given to students with a minimum GPA of 3.2 who have a record of serving or having served in the U.S. armed forces, are willing to volunteer with the 7x24 Exchange Lone Star Chapter and are enrolled for 12 or more undergraduate credit hours in the fall 2010 semester.

Computer Security and Information Assurance Scholarship for Service Program
UT Dallas invites applications for a graduate-level scholarship for service program, which provides students with a full scholarship for two years in exchange of service in the federal government for a period equivalent to the length of the scholarship. The program is open to U.S. citizens only. Scholarships are available for the last two years of your graduate education (e.g., the last two years of BS/MS fast track, two years of MS or the last two years of PhD programs). Minimum GPA of 3.0 for BS/MS or MS students and 3.5 for PhD students (which must be maintained during the scholarship). You must complete the curriculum requirements of an MS in CS in the Information Assurance track.
Crossvale Combat Veterans Scholarships
Five $1,000 scholarships are available for the 2009-10 academic year. We expect awards to be applied by the beginning of the spring 2010 semester. The basic eligibility criteria are:
- Recipients must be U.S. veterans of the conflicts in Iraq or Afghanistan.
- Recipients must be undergraduates in an engineering or computer science major.
- A strong preference will be given to veterans pursuing a degree in software engineering.
- Recipients should be local residents who plan to stay in the area.
- Recipients must stay on track to obtain an undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science major and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 (preferably at least 3.0).
A meeting of the scholarship recipients with officers of Crossvale Inc. will be arranged once the awards have been made.

ECS Phi Theta Kappa Award
The Phi Theta Kappa Award at the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science is offered on a competitive basis to transferring Phi Theta Kappa members. The scholarship provides $1,000 per semester toward a student’s tuition and mandatory fees for a maximum of four semesters or until graduation.

Ericsson Graduate Fellowships
This is a $5,000 merit-based fellowship awarded to graduate students in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. Preference will be given to students with the following characteristics:
- Full time graduate student in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science in any of the following programs: computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or telecommunications engineering
- Proven record of academic excellence as evidenced by application (including GPA, research and courses completed)
- Open to all qualified graduate students irrespective of citizenship or permanent residency status
- Five $5,000 fellowships available for the 2010-2011 academic year

Erik Jonsson School Freshman Scholarships
All freshmen who enroll in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science will automatically be considered for an Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science (ECS) Freshman Scholarship.This award is typically $1,000 per long semester with the opportunity to renew for up to eight total semesters. To be eligible for renewal, award recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA, continue to be ECS majors, and make good progress toward graduation in four years. These awards are made possible by funding from the Excellence in Education Scholarship Endowment, the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science Endowed Scholarship, and the Williams Communications Solutions Scholarship Endowment. Merit is the main criterion for selecting recipients, but the guidelines specified by funding sources may give preference to or restrict awards to specific groups (e.g., U.S. citizens/permanent residents). Other support will also be considered.
Erik Jonsson School Transfer Scholarships
All transfer students that plan to enroll in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science (ECS) will automatically be considered for an ECS Transfer Scholarship. This award is up to$1,000 per semester and can be renewed for an additional semester. These awards are made possible by funding from the Excellence in Education Scholarship Endowment, the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science Endowed Scholarship, and the Williams Communications Solutions Scholarship Endowment.

GEM Fellowship Program
The Jonsson School is a member of the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science. The consortium awards full fellowships with paid internships to highly qualified under-represented students who are U.S. citizens and wish to pursue graduate studies in engineering.

Jonsson Distinguished Scholars (Get Doc) Program
This program provides bridge support for graduating seniors in ECS majors who plan to continue their studies at the graduate level in the Jonsson School and are interested in pursuing a doctoral degree. Current support levels include a research assistantship ($2,100 per month) and tuition/fee waiver for a full-time graduate load. Applications are typically collected in early October for students graduating in December and in early March for students graduating in May or August. Students interested in this program should start planning for it at least a year before graduation; participation in the Honors in the Major programs and the Fast Track program is strongly encouraged. Jonsson School Academic Success Award
Jonsson School Academic Success Awards are offered when funds are available to continuing sophomore and junior students. These awards provide up to $2,500 for the current semester and are made possible by funding from the Excellence in Education Scholarship Endowment, the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science Endowed Scholarship, and the Williams Communications Solutions Scholarship Endowment.
Interested students must have completed a minimum of 15 hours as ECS majors at UTD with a minimum 3.3 GPA, and they must be enrolled full-time toward a degree at the Jonsson School. The Linda G. Alvarado Scholarship for Women in Engineering
Lennox International Inc. is funding two $1,000 scholarships for the fall 2010 semester.
Applicants should:
- Be accepted by the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at UT Dallas.
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or better and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better for renewal.
- Be a full-time student (12 hours at UTD minimum) and take classes appropriate for the student’s ECS major. (CE, EE, MECH, SE, TE)
- Be a junior or senior.
- Be female.
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
The Sarah Montgomery Marple Cantrell Memorial Scholarship for Women in Engineering
This scholarship provides support to incoming freshmen who a) seek an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering or telecommunications engineering and b) demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to female students as long as females are underrepresented in engineering fields. Recipients must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status. The scholarship amount is $1,000 per long semester for 2008/09, and it is renewable for up to three additional years, provided recipients remain in good standing. Download application.
St. Jude Medical Graduate Fellowships
This fellowship program supports top graduate students in the Materials Science and Engineering Department who participate in research projects involving sensor interface with human tissue. The fundamental work of this kind pursued in the department concerns the interface between inorganic matter -- such as metal electrodes or electronic materials -- with biological matter -- such as neural tissue, proteins or cells.

4. Maintain overall GPA of at least 3.0 at UTD

TxACE Doctoral Fellowships
The Texas Analog Center of Excellence (TxACE) at UT Dallas offers two merit-based fellowships to recognize and provide financial assistance to top full-time graduate students who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in areas related to analog circuits: The TxACE Diversity Fellowship (for Women and Minorities in Engineering) and the TxACE Doctoral Fellowship.

UTD-Ericsson Scholarship
This scholarship provides $2,500 per semester for up to two semesters and is awarded annually in the spring for the following fall semester. Scholarship criteria:
1. Full-time sophomore or junior in the Jonsson School or the UTD School of Management (SOM); cohort MBA student
2. Undergraduate major in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, telecommunications, AIM or finance (with a strong accounting background)
3. GPA of 3.2 or better; GPA of 3.5 or better for cohort MBA students
4. U.S. citizen or permanent resident
5. Other considerations: community service, leadership experience and work experience
Criteria for renewal for a second semester: Remain in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.2 or better; complete at least 12 credit hours at UTD during each long semester; remain an SOM or ECS major and continue to take SOM and/or ECS courses.

This scholarship provides $2,500 per semester for two semesters. Scholarship criteria:
