• Get a Comet Card student ID card.

• Get involved in UT Dallas campus life.

A Final Requirement for Some Undergraduate Students

For fulfillment of the Texas Success Initiative requirement, UT Dallas uses the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) to measure proficiency in basic areas of study. In addition, UT Dallas requires THEA as a placement test for certain UT Dallas courses. Those who do not meet UT Dallas THEA standards will have a registration hold placed on their records.

Additional Requirements for International Transfer Students

All International Visa Types:

• All students born outside the United States must submit TB test results to the Student Health Center.
• If you are currently outside the U.S., apply for a passport with your home country government.
• If you are currently outside the U.S., review procedures needed to enter the U.S.
• If you are currently outside the U.S., request an airport pickup from a student organization.
• Meet with an academic advisor and obtain a registration clearance code before registering.

F and J Visa Types Only:

• Submit documents to receive I-20 or DS2019 from the International Student Services Office.
• Use I-20 or DS2019 and passport to apply for an F or J Visa.
• Attend international student orientation.
