Effort Certification
Effort Reporting is our means of providing assurance to research sponsors, including the federal government that:
- Salaried charges to sponsored projects are reasonable in relation to the work performed
- Faculty and staff have met their commitments to the research project
In a climate of frequent audits, headlines about major fines and more on the horizon for 2009, the UT System leadership believes that a system-wise move to a nationally-proven effort certification system is the best way to reassure sponsors that research in UTD continues to be a wise investment. For researchers, this "three clicks and you're done" system is the best of both worlds:
- it looks similar to the paper system to avoid confusion
- it is faster and easier to certify effort than the paper system
